Real Sociedad finish fourth to take the Champions League spot

Real Sociedad won 1-0 over Deportivo La Coruña in the last day of La Liga to finish in fourth place ahead of Valencia and claim the Champions League spot.

Sociedad went into the match with 63 points in fifth place, two behind Valencia, so a win and a favor from Sevilla who hosted Los Che would secure the UCL spot, and this what exactly happened as they won 1-0 over Deportivo to send them to the Segunda División and a magical four goal performance from Álvaro Negredo handed Valencia a final loss that dropped them to fifth place.

Deportivo La Coruña, Mallorca and Real Zaragoza were relegated as Celta Vigo managed to make the great escape.
