Bayern Munich survived late fightback from Stuttgart to win the German Cup and becoming the first German club to ever win the treble.

Thomas Müller penalty and a second half brace from Mario Gomez ensured that the newly crowned European champions are cruising toward a historic season, despite two late goals from Martin Harnik for Stuttgart that made the final minutes thrilling, but the Bavarians held their nerves to claim the cup.

Manuel Neuer, once again this season proved to be the key behind Bayern success by making some incredible saves to prevent Stuttgart  from scoring on many occasions.

By winning the treble, Bayern Munich entered an elite group of only seven teams who managed to do such a historic season, these teams are:
  1. Celtic in 1967
  2. Ajax Amsterdam in 1972
  3. PSV Eindhoven in 1998
  4. Manchester United 1999
  5. Barcelona in 2009
  6. Inter Milan in 2010
  7. Bayern Munich 2013
Jupp Heynckes finished his last season as Bayern Munich manager in the best possible way before stepping down to give his post to former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola.
