Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Puyol and many other players are La Masia graduates, which is the football youth academy of FC Barcelona located near the Camp Nou. It is considered one of the best academies in Europe (53 professionals playing in Europe leagues trained there).
Gerard Deulofeu, who joined La Masia in 2003, aged just nine (born in March 13 1994), could be the next star of Barcelona. He currently plays for Barca B with 27 goals from 62 appearnces, he is a striker/right winger who plays with his right foot and is considered a very fast player.
In April 29 2011, Deulofeu was called-up to the senior squad for the first time to play a match in La Liga against Real Sociedad, but he never left the bench where Barca lost 2-1 back then. His first match was in August 3 same year in a 1–4 friendly loss against C.D. Guadalajara.
