David Beckham retires from football

David Beckham who turned 38 this month had announced his retirement from football, after a long career highlighted with a golden period at Manchester United.

This will be his last season which will end on May 26 with an away game for PSG (his current team) against Lorient.

About his retirement, he said: "I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level."

With the French League title this year with PSG, he had won the domestic title in four different countries and two different continents (Manchester United, Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy and PSG).
