Jo-Wilfried Tsonga produced an incredible performance to beat 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer in straight sets on Tuesday to keep hopes of a home winner at the French Open for the first time in 30 years when Yannick Noah defeated Mats Wilander 6–2, 7–5, 7–6(7–3).
Sixth-seed Tsonga thrashed Federer 7-5, 6-3, 6-3 to reach his first semifinal in Paris and home nation’s first semi-finalist since Gael Monfils in 2008.
