Maria Sharapova will be part of Roland Garros final for the second time in succession to defend her title after edging Victoria Azarenka 6-1 2-6 6-4 to face either world number one Serena Williams or last year runner-up Sara Errani.
Russian second seed Sharapova served for the match leading 5-2 in the third set but couldn't convert four match points due to her poor first serve where she slaps down two double faults in the game and 11 overall, but at 5-4 she made no mistake serving out the match with an ace down the centre of the court
