Barcelona matches Madrid 100-point record

Barcelona won their last Liga game against Malaga at home to equal Real Madrid record of reaching the 100-point mark which was set last season en route to winning the title.

Goals from Villa, Fàbregas and Montoya put the Catalan 3-0 up in the first 16 minutes and till the half-time whistle against Pellegrini's men in his farewell match. Iniesta added a fourth goal after 50 minutes while Morales pulls one back for Malaga six minutes later, which was the final action of the night as it ended 4-1 to  the champions.

With 85 points and five matches left in the Spanish Liga, Barcelona had to win them all, if they were going to equal the 100-point record which was the only motivation left for them as the league was technically over, and with tonight's win over Malaga, the job was perfectly done as they close out the League in style with five match winning streak.

Both teams were saying goodbyes, Barcelona for their french defender Eric Abidal who is leaving the club this summer and Malaga for their Manager Manuel Pellegrini who will be Manchester City new boss next season.
